AI Member Guidance Framework for Regional Trade Association
Client: Regional trade association with 850 members in manufacturing sector
Challenge: Members were asking staff “Should we use AI?” and “How do our competitors use AI?” but association leadership had no credible answers. Board was paralyzed—afraid to give wrong guidance, afraid to give no guidance. Executive director needed practical approach that didn’t require association to become AI experts.
What We Did: Single-day workshop with board and staff to understand what members actually needed (guidance on vendor evaluation, not technical training). Developed three-tier framework: what associations can credibly say about AI, what requires expert partners, what members need to figure out themselves. Created member communication strategy.
